The TASA U11C Dragons join the entire TASA family in a deep outpouring of grief and respect following the passing of 10-year-old Selah Panacci-MacCallum, a brave member of the TASA community who recently concluded her courageous battle with cancer. Selah's incredible spirit has inspired our team’s young players, and our commitment to supporting her family is unwavering.
Dragons Lead the Way with Powerful Gesture
The connection is especially strong within the Dragons' locker room, where some of our young players knew Selah personally. To ensure her spirit was with them on the ice, the Dragons demonstrated their solidarity in a powerful, visual tribute. Our players collectively wore Selah’s number 10 on their jerseys and wrapped their sticks in pink tape, symbolizing her courageous fight and the loving, supportive heart of our team. These small, heartfelt gestures show the profound empathy and unity shared by our U11C team for the MacCallum family.
Standing Strong with the TASA Family
This heartfelt display by the Dragons is part of a massive movement across the Nova Scotia hockey landscape. Selah's determination and her father JP MacCallum's connection to the U18 March and Mill Co. Hunters became a rallying point for the entire province. The community responded with immense compassion, organizing fundraisers and dedicating games. Even NHL star Brad Marchand returned home to coach a game in her honour, a beautiful example of the compassion that defines the Nova Scotia hockey bond. The Dragons proudly stand alongside this larger community, reinforcing that when one TASA family member is hurting, the entire organization stands with them.
Selah's Enduring Legacy
Selah’s impact is immense. She is remembered not only for her fight but for her unwavering spirit, her passion for life, and the light she brought to every rink. Her legacy is one of unity and courage.
The TASA U11C Dragons send our deepest condolences and stand unified to ensure Selah's brave spirit and legacy of community support are always remembered. ????
