U13 Competitive Tryouts - Position Confirmation

Hi Folks,

We are seeking to re-validate the position information for those entering competitive tryouts at the U13 age group. This is due to some discrepencies we have found with HCR and Greyjay registrations and known/expected position information.

We would ask all those trying out for U13 Competitive teams to fill out the following position confirmation form by Sept 11th if possible.

U13 Competitive Position Confirmation Form

Thanks in advance and make sure you are keeping a close eye on the Chebucto Website for Tryout information as we get close to kickoff.

Go Chebucto!

Welcome Message for Our U9 Community!

Welcome to all Chebucto U9 Families!

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is excited to get back on the ice for another great hockey season! My name is Stacy Forgeron, and I am the new VP of U9 for the Chebucto Association.  Here is all of the information you need to get your U9 player started this season:

There are 2 new reference documents posted on the Chebucto website under the top ribbon, U7/U9 Information, or at the links below:
Please give these documents a read for more info on what to expect.
Note: they are guidelines only, slight changes and variations are possible from year to year, season to season.

Pre-season is underway and regular season will start the week of Sept 23rd; all players will have one session (weekday evening session) prior to evaluations. Player lists, dates and times for these sessions will be posted closer to the date.

U9 Evaluations are scheduled for:
 - Sept 28th between 9:30-1:30 at the Civic Arena
 - Sept 29th between 9:30-11:30 at the Civic Arena

The format for evaluations this year will be:
Evaluation Day 1 - Sept 28th - NSST timed drills (more info available in the website reference doc linked above)
Based on the results of Day 1, select players will be called back for further evaluation.
Evaluation Day 2 - Sept 29th - secondary evaluations will be battle station drills to better refine groupings.
Note - not all players will be required to participate in the Sept 29th secondary evaluations, groups will be posted after Saturday's results, so don't be alarmed if your player is not listed for Sunday.

We need a tonne of volunteers for the evaluation process, so if you're able to help out in any capacity (several off-ice roles required) please complete the volunteer form here

Goalie evaluations are separate, if you registered your player to be evaluated as a goalie please reach out to me directly at u9@chebuctominorhockey.com.

Developmental, Intermediate and Advancing groupings will be announced by Oct 4th along with next practice date and time. Teams will be firmed up thereafter.

If you have not yet registered your U9 player for the 2024-2025 season please do so ASAP as we need final numbers for planning - registration closes Sept 15th.
Registration link here

Also, if you have interest in volunteering and did not indicate so with registration or the coaches interest survey back in July, please reach out to u9@chebuctominorhockey.com.

We're looking forward to another great season of U9 hockey.  Please reach out if you have any questions, and we'll see you all in the rink soon!

REC Registration Open Till Sept 15th -- Apologies for the Error

Dear Chebucto Families,

Recently we made a decision in error to close Recreation "C" registration and establish a wait list prior to the published close date of Sept 15th We apologize for any confusion or stress this has caused.  Registration for Recreation C hockey will re-open Sept 4th and it will remain open until Sept 15th as originally published.

As an association we need to ensure our team configurations across all age groups in both competitive and recreation hockey is consistent and viable.  As such, we will monitor the registrations in these last two weeks and make a decision on team configuration once registration has closed.  It is our intention for all Chebucto families who register by this date to have a spot on a Chebucto team.  However, if the final numbers do not support viable team configurations at all levels, we will have to evaluate player registration for Recreation C level on a first come first serve basis, dating back to the open date of registration.  Further, we will work with Hockey Nova Scotia to the best of our ability to find a spot for any player not selected on a Chebucto team after the final team configurations are in place.

Once again I want to thank my executive for the tireless efforts in managing registration, team projections,  and dedication to providing the opportunity to participate in hockey for each player taking the time to register with us either for the first time or as a returning participant.

If you have concerns or questions please reach out directly to me.
